Dry &
Sensitive Skin

Dry skin can cause skin cells to shrivel like a raisin, which leads to fine lines, wrinkles and premature aging.

We tend to think that drinking lots of water can cure dry skin, unfortunately, the water doesn’t go directly to the skin. It’s best to deliver instant moisture to thirsty skin from the outside.

Treatments aside, bear in mind that products that are great for oily and combination skin types are not so great for dry skin sufferers. Unsuitable sunblock could be drying your skin while giving you the sun protection. So, choose your products wisely.

The Causes

Inappropriate skincare products, chemicals or cosmetics

Excessive bathing, swimming, air-conditioning.

Prolonged sun exposure, weather changes.

Travelling overseas.

Our solutions.

              Pigmentation

              By Face Conditions

              Pigmentation

Your skin gets its color from a pigment called melanin. In short, pigmentation simply means coloring. Too much melanin will result in dark patches, such as melasma, freckles and moles.

Lack of melanin might cause vitiligo, a condition whereby white patches develop on the skin. Treatment recommendations are made depending on several factors, including the colour, darkness and size of the pigmentation.

              The Causes

Melasma – Brown to gray-brown patches on areas such as cheeks, bridge of nose, forehead and upper lip. Commonly experienced by pregnant women, hence the nickname “mask of pregnancy”. Triggers include sun exposure, pregnancy, birth control pills, hormone therapy and family history.

Freckles – Clusters of small flat brown spots, often seen in people with fair complexion. Developed as a result of sun exposure, with some caused by genetic inheritance.

Moles – Often appear as small, dark brown spots and are caused by clusters of pigmented cells. Also come in different colors, shapes and sizes. More common in fair-skinned people.

Q-Switched laser technology creates high-intensity pulsed beam light. It has energy that is concentrated into ultra-powerful pulses which only last a billionth of a second each. This results in reduced energy’s contact with the skin compared to other lasers and will preserve the surrounding tissue and reduce risk of side effects.

The different wavelengths of light produced by Q-Switched lasers makes them a versatile treatment which can effectively address many different conditions. Nd:YAG® is the most popular type of Q-switched laser. This laser emits 1064nm and 532nm wavelengths and is prized for its vast range of application

GentleLASE is a high-energy, long-pulse laser that can treat all skin types and a variety of conditions. The laser creates a beam of high-intensity light that penetrates deep into skin tissue where it delivers a controlled amount of therapeutic heat. This treatment offers optimal results with lesser side effects. Your doctor will guide the laser to the treatment areas with a small handheld probe. Each laser pulse may be preceded and followed by a short pulse of cooling spray. A treatment like this could take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour, depending on the area and condition being treated.

Crystal Tomato® Plus is the only supplement that has been clinically tested and proven on melasma patients to brighten and even out skin tone, reduce dark patches and inflammations while protecting your skin.

For added benefits, L-Cysteine, an amino acid, is also included in the formulation. It helps to boost the liver’s production of Glutathione, commonly referred to as the body’s master anti-oxidant to maintain skin health.

With only 1 application per day, the strongest Cysteamine and Tranexamic acid nano-formula cream will eliminate stubborn pigments. Cysteamine is a high safety-profile molecule that decreases the rate of development of new pigment. Whereas Tranexamic is a well researched essential amino acid derivative. When delivered simultaneously, Tranexamic potentiates Cysteamine’s effects by slowing down growth or new pigment producing cells (melanocytes)

                  Acne & Scars

Acne isn’t just for teens: Adult acne is real.

There’s nothing more disappointing than waiting until your 20s, and then learning the hard way that breakouts don’t necessarily end when your teenage years do. It is even possible to get acne for the first time as an adult.

Depending on its severity, acne can cause emotional distress and scar the skin.

If you’ve tried over-the-counter acne products and they haven’t helped, our doctors can prescribe topical medications to control sebum production or prevent clogged pores. Oral antibiotic kills excess skin bacteria. Often combined with topical medications for optimal results.

                  The Causes

Hormonal changes, such as before menstrual cycle.

Unhealthy lifestyle, such as saleeping late.

                  Stress

Inappropriate skincare products, chemicals or cosmetics.

Cleansing too frequently – more than twice a day is too much.

Physical pressure on the face, such as spectacles.

Air pollution can put a layer of dirt on your face, causing acne.
